The Los Angeles Lakers’ 2022-23 season may not have ended how they wanted, but they will have a chance to get back on track in 2023-24 starting with the preseason.
The Lakers will be playing six preseason games total leading up to the 2022-23 regular season, and that includes trips to the Bay Area, Palm Springs, Anaheim and Las Vegas.
To kick things off, the Lakers will travel to take on the Golden State Warriors at Chase Center in a rematch of last year’s second round on Oct. 7. From there, they will head to Las Vegas for a game against the Brooklyn Nets at the T-Mobile Center on Oct. 9
Considering how close Las Vegas is to Southern California, there likely will be a large contingent of Lakers fans at those games, as has been the case in previous years. The same could be said for the Honda Center in Anaheim, where the Lakers will take on the Sacramento Kings on Oct. 11.
The Lakers then head up home for back-to-back games at Crypto.com Arena against the Warriors and Milwaukee Bucks on Oct. 13 and 15, respectively.
To close it out, the Lakers will play a game in Palm Springs at Acrisure Arena against the Phoenix Suns on Oct. 19.
The Lakers struggled in the preseason last year and then got off to a 2-10 start in the regular season, so there’s no doubt that Darvin Ham would like a different outcome this time around. With a roster looking to gain continuity and one fewer preseason game than usual, Ham could opt to play his key guys more than he did a season ago.
